JYJ member Jaejoong’s popularity strikes again.

Recently Taiwan Entertainment Magazine Pop published their chosen 50 most popular idol from South Korea, Taiwan, HongKong, China, and United States. Jaejoong stands out as he was selected as Korean singer with the highest popularity.

Jaejoong has been active recently with his fellow TVXQ members Micky Yoochun and Xiah Junsu under group JYJ in South Korea, China, Japan, and even United States while they showed off high popularity in all those countries. JYJ first album that was released on October 14th ‘The Beginning’ broke another record with 520,000 copies sold during pre-sale orders and was featured as the Top 5 in Billboard Readers’ Choice Award this year. Meanwhile in Japan, he’s also involved in a drama ‘Sunao Ni Narenakute’ which became hot topic and garnered a great interests from local audiences. Jaejoong signed contract with East Asia Entertainment Hong Kong, a top rate agency that manages Chinese star Andy Lau, with his new unit JYJ and formed an active solid fan base ever since.

All those achievements put the singer at the top rank of the most popular idol. Meanwhile at the same vote HanKyung from Super Junior was attracted everyone’s attention as he’s chosen as the most popular Chinese idol.

[TRANS] 101217 TVXQ’s Surprising Sales In Japan..’129 Billion Won’

Group TVXQ ranked second in Japan’s album and DVD sales rankings this year.

According to the ’2010 Artistes’ Total Sales Ranking’ (tallied up till November 22nd), released by Oricon Biz Online on the 6th, TVXQ ranked second behind popular Japanese group Arashi. By ranking higher than Japan’s representative groups such as AKB48, Ikimono-gakari, EXILE, Kat-tun and Koda Kumi, TVXQ maintained their pride as the only Korean group amongst the groups.

It was found that TVXQ raked in sales of 9,411,500,000 Yen through singles, albums and DVD releases this year, which amounts to approximately 129 billion Won.

Their accomplishments predicted such an achievement beginning with their single ‘Break Out’, which was released in January and sold over 250,000 copies in five days, making TVXQ the foreign artiste with the most singles ranked #1 on the weekly charts (7 times).

Also, their ‘Best Selection 2010′ album sold 413,000 copies in a week in February and their DVDs, such as their ‘TVXQ History in Japan Special’, were very popular as well.

TVXQ were able to prove that their popularity in Japan has not changed as they were able to achieve such feats although they have not been active due to YoungWoong Jaejoong, Micky Yoochun and Xiah Junsu’s legal dispute with SM Entertainment.

[TRANS] 101215 Junsu’s Fans Donate To Help The Hearing-Impaired For The Third Consecutive Year

Xiah Soul’, a fan community dedicated to (Xiah) Junsu, who is currently working as a member of JYJ and a musical actor, has donated money to the ‘Finding Sound for Hearing-Impaired Children’ foundation for the third consecutive year.

As the fans wished to gift Junsu with a meaningful gift rather than a materialistic gift to celebrate his birthday, Xiah Soul made their first donation to the ‘Finding Sound for Hearing-Impaired Children’ foundation on Junsu’s birthday, December 15th, 2008.

The first child to receive the donation was hearing-impaired Kim Dan Hee (Grade 6 at the time). Xiah Soul donated enough money to cover her artificial snail surgery and speech therapy fees and since the successful surgery, Dan Hee has been receiving continuous speech therapy. Currently, she has improved greatly and is able to engage in every-day conversations with short sentences.


Xiah Soul was in the spotlight last December for donating money to Dan Hee’s sister Dan Ah, who was also hearing-impaired, and decided to make their third donation this year to Song Yoo Chan (3 year old boy) to celebrate Junsu’s birthday.

Junsu and his fans impressed many with both singer and fanclub donating to a good cause as Junsu donated treasured belongings to the Snails of Love’s 119 Event of Love Charity Bazaar in January for Xiah Soul, who had been doing charity work in his name, and for the rehabilitation of many more hearing-impaired persons.

The administrator of Xiah Soul stated, “We find it meaningful that our relationship with the ‘Sound Finding Journey’, which began with the hopes that those who couldn’t hear could be given the chance to be moved by Xiah Junsu’s music, has been going on for three years,” and “As Xiah Junsu and Xiah Soul are both very interested in the culture of giving, we wish to keep donating to the worthy cause as long as Xiah Soul is around.”

Xiah Soul’s continuous support for the cause became the stepping stone in changing people’s perspectives of pop culture and fan clubs. Xiah Soul is being used as a desirable example of a fanclub sending a positive message to the youth of Korea to be more active in society.

I went to watch the musical Trax's Young Duk hyung is taking part in - 'The Three Musketeers'.

Despite hearing of Jay hyung's extremely busy schedule what with filming his drama and participating in activities with SM The Ballad, I thought he looked extremely handsome, sang amazingly and had an outstanding performance today in the musical.

There were also many other talented musical actors who took the show very seriously and I found myself completely drawn into the musical.

Although the whole 'good always triumphs over evil' theme was really obvious, it was heartwarming to watch as truth and reason prevailed once again…

Even though I've been so busy recently that I'm really quite drained, seeing Jay hyung's wonderful stage and his charismatic acting today made me even more eager to take my place on stage again as soon as possible.

Jay hyung has been showing off good sides of himself in so many aspects lately and for some unknown reason, it's really excited me ^^ Hahaha

In the near future, I'll be stepping on stage once again. In order to show you all a charming image of myself, I seriously ought to prepare ^^

Please look forward to Dong Bang Shin Ki's return.

The reason I've been so busy recently is to show you all a better side of myself.

[Trans] 101213 JYJ As The Only Korean Artist On 2010’s Best Album Poll

According to reports from the Korea Media, the trio from Korea’s famous group TVXQ who filed a lawsuit against SM Entertainment due to contract issues, who is also known as JYJ and formed by Kim JaeJoong, Park YooChun and Xiah JunSu, obtained the 5th place in America’s “Billboard Magazine Readers’ Poll for 2010’s Best 10 Albums”. They have become the only Korean artist appearing on the chart.

JYJ recently released their first worldwide album “The Beginning”, and now they even got hold of a spot in the Billboard chart. Currently at the Billboard magazine’s website, you can also see JYJ’s exclusive introduction page, which includes their biographies, the performances of “Ayyy Girl” which is one of the recorded tracks in the album, some videos of interviews and more.

Apart from that, the album from the famous producer Kanye West who collaborated with JYJ, was also at the 10th place. The first place went to the American Idol-born singer David James Archuleta’s album, while the second and the third place went to rap artist Eminem and America’s country group Lady Antebellum respectively.

[TRANS] 101213 JYJ's Fans Donate Rice & Homemade "Love" Bentos

The Chairman of international humanitarian organisation World Vision expressed, "During the showcase that was held at Korea University on 12 October, JYJ told their fans that compared to flowers, sending rice and making homemade bentos was better."

JYJ's fanclubs have sent a total of 8.38tonnes of rice to World Vision centres located in Seoul, Daejeon, Pusan and more, and also sent 'love' bentos to children and elderly from low-income families.

The Chairman for World Vision said that "during this period of time, JYJ have participated in various World Vision activities" and at the same time their fans have also helped to warm up the cold winter.

Also, JYJ received a total income of KRW30,000,000 for their [JYJ Worldwide Showcase in Seoul], and this sum was donated in full towards the "Child Welfare Campaign".

According to reports, out of their profits from their Malaysia showcase, they also donated USD$10,000 to needy children in Malaysia. Now, World Vision's Japanese website reported that JYJ are currently doing performance activities with the children.

The group JYJ (Jaejoong, Yoochun, Junsu) has prepared an official website (www.c-jes.com) for their fans as a Christmas gift, with the promotional teaser video revealed 10 days before the opening.

The teaser video starts off with footage of fans who were waiting for their first concert, at the Seoul Olympic Stadium on 27 and 28 November, to begin, as well as exciting footage from the live.

These words then appear: "You've waited for really long, right? This is a Christmas gift for you!" and this is followed by JYJ members appearing to indicate that the JYJ website is open. JYJ's humorous and interesting introduction raises one's expectations for the official opening of the site.

This website acts as both C-jes' official site and JYJ's official fan site. It is planned that this site will be used as the platform for communication between the JYJ members and their fans, as well as a site for the fans to show their support for JYJ.

This website is JYJ's Christmas gift to their fans and it will open on 24 December. For the sake of all their fans in Asia, there will be 4 language functions, including Korean.

On the day that the JYJ website officially opens, unseen pictures and footage of JYJ activities during this period of time will be unveiled.

[NEWS] KBS confirms JYJ’s performance for the ‘2010 Drama Awards’

Last week, JYJ’s first broadcast appearance in Korea via KBS’s “2010 Drama Awards” was reported to be under discussion.

Recently, a representative from KBS’s drama team confirmed on December 14th that JYJ will be performing “Found You” – a track from the “Sungkyunkwan Scandal” OST – for December 31st.

Representatives of JYJ and KBS were said to have argued over the number of songs to be performed in the beginning, but both sides ended up agreeing to KBS’s initial request for a one-song congratulatory performance.

JYJ met with various obstacles in October after the release of their debut album, “The Beginning“, due to legal issues with SM Entertainment. Yet KBS came forward and requested their appearance, reasoning that Yoochun was one of the leading stars for its drama “Sungkyunkwan Scandal”, and that JYJ sang the OST for it.

This performance may allow future opportunities for the boys to perform in additional public venues.

"Tears of Heaven" depicts a man who resists fate for the sake of a great love. A man who refuses to give up on his love despite the circumstances, he shows the sincerity of love. Like Xiah Junsu (Kim Junsu), Davichi member Lee Haeri and Brad Little will also be performing in this musical.

The first performance is set to take the stage at the National Theatre on 1 February next year.

[News] 101213 Xiah Junsu, The Ten Billion Musical “No Guarantee Cast… Investment Concept”

During Xiah Junsu’s new musical ‘Tears in Heaven’ press conference, the producer released an official statement regarding the musical’s casting process.

On December 13th at Imperial Palace Hotel in Gangnamgu, Seoul, the press conference of a new musical entitled ‘Tears of Heaven’ was held, while during the conference the musical PD Seol Do-yoon released a statement, “Even before the press release distribution, we already concerned about articles that are filled with wrong speculations, thus I’d rather to state an official statement here.” he said. “There seem to have guarantee issue being discussed. In more precise, Xiah Junsu is reported as a guarantee for a ‘top’ result, there’s no such thing, there’s no guarantee.”

The PD later continued, “Xiah Junsu’s agency agreed to involve in the investment concept. That means, income will generate accordingly to the share of interest from performance schedule the artist is going to have,” and “Xiah Junsu has also been selected for his cast through an audition.”In regard to Xiah Junsu’s cast, “He’s already verified as a musical star through ‘Mozart’. Ever since he’s considered to be one of potential actor for this musical, we started to evaluate whether he’s indeed eligible for the role. In the end, it was the former staffs who had made unanimous decision.”

Xiah Junsu’s role in the musical ‘Tears of Heaven’ is as a South Korea soldier who dispatched to Vietnam and had a destined meet that led him to falling in love to a Vietnamese woman. Charismatic acting and vocal is expected to showcase by the actor.

Musical ‘Tears of Heaven’ describes about a painful love story that blossomed during Vietnam war, a magnificent musical masterpiece that is produced by the creative production team of Seol Company. World music master Frank Wildhorn from ‘Jekyll and Hyde’ will present his musical creativity for the first time in Korea through this big musical work, while Xiah Junsu (Kim Junsu), Yun Gong-ju, Jung Sang-yun, ‘Phantom of The Opera’ Brad Little, and Davichi’s Lee Hae Ri will perform as the leading casts.

Aiming to feature a global musical in worldwide markets, after undergoing a 3 years and 6 months period of preparation, the musical production is scheduled to pass through 5 countries namely Hungary, New York, Canada, Czech Republic, and Japan for performance visit. Meanwhile ‘Tears of Heaven’ will kick off its first stage on February 1st at National Theatre of Korea.

[TRANS] 101214 Tohoshinki to Sing Theme Song for Fuji TV's Drama

On the 23rd of last month, the shocking news that the "new" Tohoshinki would be making a comeback next January was made; and now, their new song will become the theme song for a drama.

The new song, named "torn", is described to portray the gloomy torn feelings in a tangled relationship between a man and a woman. They commented, "It is a powerful dance song that you will be able to enjoy." Although the number of their members has been reduced from 5 to 2, they will not let if affect them in order to come up with the song and to show the audience a powerful stage. With powerful beats, the partial lyrics of the song is revealed, "Is love a crime? Is pain a punishment?". They expressed, "Please expect us to show you our tough and manly side."

The producer of the drama, Toyofuku Youko, personally chose the song for the drama. The drama is titled "Utsukushii Rinjin" (Beautiful Neighbor). In this drama, actress Nakama Yukie will portray an evil woman, while her co-star Dan Rei will be playing the character of a happy housewife who lives next door; and this suspense drama is about how their quiet everyday life is destroyed. Since this story is about woman vs. woman, to avoid creating an overly sweet atmosphere, the producer interfused the world of this drama with a song sung by male vocals.

Upon learning about their comeback, producer Toyofuku immediately offered them the chance. She expressed her thoughts upon listening to the song for the first time, "It is a very thorny and captivating song that captures the instinct of a woman such as jealousy, love and passion. It portrays perfectly the poison that every woman carries, and I immediately thought that it was the one."

The drama will air every Tuesday 10pm starting from January 11.
